Understanding Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves, and sophisticated computer processing to create detailed cross-sectional images of organs, soft tissues, bone, and virtually all other internal body structures. Unlike X-rays or CT scans, MRI does not use ionizing radiation, making it a safe option for many patients. It is particularly effective for visualizing soft tissues, such as muscles, ligaments, tendons, the brain, and spinal cord, providing clarity that other imaging methods may not offer.
